KING COUNTY, Wash. — Fall is right around the corner and the National Weather Service (NWS) has released their newest "Long Range Outlook" to give us a hint of what we can expect when it comes to temperatures and precipitation for the next three months.
In the eight to 14 day outlook for wetness, much of the northwest is being given a 30 to 40% chance of below normal amounts of precipitation between early September and Sept. 22. Those would be the remaining days of summer with fall arriving on the 22nd.
A map showing expected temperatures has the northwest leaning towards above normal temps during that time.
Looking out three months, through November, NWS is expecting a drier than average fall for us in western Washington.
The temperature outlook is also leaning toward above normal temps for much of this fall, with western Washington being given a 30 to 40% chance of above normal temps.
So, if you're hoping for an extra wet and cool autumn in our area, forecasters said there is a better chance you will be disappointed.
